Steve Sims is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of finance and investment experience, which spans involvement in more than $3 billion in real estate transactions, covering the full spectrum of asset sectors. He works closely with RanchHarbor’s institutional, high-net-worth and family office clients and partners, and oversees the company’s asset underwriting and analysis, in addition to all project capital structuring.

Prior to Mainbrace, Sims co-founded Landmark Real Estate, formerly known as Landmark Capital Advisors, a real estate capital advisory firm disciplined in finance and private equity, where he successfully advised clients on over $1.3 billion of capital transactions across all asset classes.

In 2011, Sims co-founded Tusker Investments, a real estate investment and advisory firm focused on sub-institutional-sized investment opportunities. He is a former partner at Messenger Investment Company where he handled the company’s financial, strategic, and market analysis. He was a key player on the acquisition team at Archon Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, and worked on all commercial real estate product types in markets throughout the U.S.

Sims holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree from the University of California Berkeley’s Hass School of Business. He is a licensed California Real Estate Professional and is an active member of Newport Harbor Yacht Club where he is a former Treasurer and currently serves as a Director in the role of Secretary.
